WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLAN for the LAKE GEORGE WATERSHED

VISION – The goal of the Lake George Watershed Management Plan is to ensure
a healthy watershed,
clean water, biodiversity and a sustainable environment for residents and
wildlife.
MISSION OF THE GROUP
The Lake George Watershed Management Plan will:
-identify environmental and other concerns that affect the quality of water
and land
-provide data driven research in order to monitor, improve and/or maintain a
healthy watershed
-conserve biodiversity
-foster environmentally sustainable agriculture
-engage support and commitment among people who live in the watershed
-improve and maintain the quality of the water
-educate residents of the watershed community about environmental
responsible actions to
maintain the quality of the lakes.
The Lake George Watershed includes Fish, Huyck, Silver, George and Pleasant
Lakes in Steuben and Branch counties.
