Joy Kent- President called the meeting to order 8:31 am w/ introduction of attendees.

Secretary report- accepted with a correction.

Treasurer’s report- accepted as written

Jack Stiefel painted our barges, Assoc paid for supplies.

Committee Reports-

-Safety / Patrol-Joy Kent and Paul Schlatter are legally deputized by Sheriff Rick Lewis. We need a boat lift with canopy for our boat. MI law requires a portable throwable device class 4. Gas is being stolen from boats.

-Fish/wildlife-Gary Zandstra- The natural ebb and flow will lessen the fish population at times, it is not due to the Walleye eating them. We do have overpopulation of Northern Pike. Catch limit is 3 per day.

-Website- D. Stang- reworking the website, trying to get the breeze on it.

-Breeze- A. Schwartz- trying to save money, one way would be to get the winter breeze down to one page. Ask on mailer if people want breeze on electronic mail.

-Motion-We will do a normal winter breeze this year but work toward downsizing & using electronic mail. Seconded, so moved.

-Weeds- P. Schlatter- he will apply for 2009 LARE grant. He also found a weed identification book. Linda Hagerman and Paul will work on a poster identifying weeds. Jerry Case has underwater digital camera they could use.


NEW BUSINESS

-Dues for 2009- Motion- to make Assoc dues $50, with each additional cottage by same owner at $15, Seconded, so moved. Weeds- at the annual meeting it was voted to make them $100. Fireworks- $40 last year. Motion to change the Fireworks fee to $30.00, seconded, so moved. Motion-

Dam category to be changed to “Legal Fund” for $50., seconded, so moved.

Total dues amount for 2009 is $255.00

Motion to make the Fish/Wildlife dues $25 and not optional, seconded, so moved.

-Motion- to pay attorney bills as they are received, not to exceed $30,000, seconded, so moved.

-Weeds- Joy Kent- weeds payment of the dues can be sent to the conservancy for a tax deduction. Put line on check “Weeds/Conservancy”

-Recycling- Linda Hagerman- Allied Waste can do garbage and recycling for $16.50 a month. Up to 3 trash cans supplied by homeowner. Put info. in breeze. Contact Cris Carpenter 800-589-7852

-Water testing- Glen Bickel- on September 27 if water is not flowing over Dam.
